Glenda León

With a practice articulated through various media, Glenda León incorporates a repertoire of techniques and materials driven by experimentation and her multidisciplinary training. Her work emerges from the fusion of her empirical approach and contemporary mystical research, positioning itself between rationalism—in its broadest sense—and spirituality.

Her work forges connections that both reveal and sometimes contradict the laws of nature, challenging the audience’s perception by placing it in the gap between the visible and the invisible, sound and silence, the ephemeral and the eternal.

The artist emphasizes listening as a crucial step in the evolution of her creative process. Dance, choreography, and music deepen her understanding of a “whole” in which mind, body, space, sound, and silence coexist. Consequently, her works present a shift in focus between reality and time, explore mystical experiences through sensory elements, and depict the disintegration of the self through imagery.

“Like magic, art is an act of transformation, which sometimes translates into the simple act of making things align,” León states.
